This subspecies of Mimic is able to disguise itself as a leather-bound book, able to be opened and for some of its various parchmentlike gills to be turned, but within its middle, it hides a lashing pseudopod which can immobilize a target by wrapping around their face and head. It can then exude an acid to digest its victim over time while they suffocate. Although they are ambush predators, they lack the self-control of full mimics, and sometimes launch an attack at an inopportune time.
