Although they are physiologically different, these creatures seem to be related to the infamous Purple Worm of the Underdark. However, they have adapted for burrowing through lighter materials than solid stone, and lack the venomous tail stinger for which purple worms are so well-known. These brown worms are vicious predators of the desert, and will attack anyone crossing their territory, pausing only when prey reaches solid footing, or ceases movement.
